Some Common Forms of Aggression We’ve Encountered

Fear Aggression

This is the kind of canine aggression we often see in rescue dogs or dogs with a history of abuse and neglect. They aren’t sure what to expect or who to trust. They never know where they’ll end up next, either geographically or in their owner’s graces. We can work on building trust between you and your dog.

Sibling Aggression

This is when your dog acts out towards another animal in the household. You don’t have to choose between pets! We can train multiple dogs at once to create a safe environment for everyone in the home, furry or not.

Territorial Aggression

Do you feel like you can’t have people over because you aren’t sure how your dog will react? Somehow, your dog got the message that it’s his job to protect the home. While this is great in theory, a territorial dog is more likely to attack a friend than a foe. It’s better to have a security alarm and train your dog to defer to you.

Resource Guarding

Food aggression falls into this category. If your dog attacks another dog (or you) because that dog touched a toy, looked at their food, or laid on their bed, your dog has an issue with resource guarding. You should be able to take a toy from under your dog’s nose without fear of being attacked. We can make that happen.

Leash Reactivity

Some dogs only act aggressively when they’re on a leash. Going for a walk should be fun and relaxing. We can teach your dog proper leash behavior, so you can trust them to stay quietly by your side whether they see a person, dog, or squirrel.
